This is a general idea of the things you can expect to learn in French I.  This is a new series and I will follow the publisher's suggested sequence as follows:

    Asking questions
    Grammar:  subjects, verbs, pronouns, indefinite articles and the verb
                        avoir 
    Culture: Formal/informal greetings, personal space, and Theophile
                Duverger
Chapter 2 Qu'est-ce qui te plait?
    Likes/Dislikes
    Hobbies/Activities
    Agree/Disagree
    Grammar: definite articles, -er  verbs, irregualr plurals, contractions
                        with a, and conjunctions
    Culture: Music, dance, and Georges Seurat
Chapter 3: Comment est ta famille?
    Physical descriptions
    Family and pets
    Asking for and giving opinions
    Grammar: etre, adjective agreement, irregular adjectives, possessive
                        adjectives, and contractions with de
    Culture: Festival d'ete, Fete de la famille, Carnival de Quebec, and
                Edmond-Joseph Massicotte

    School subjects and vocabulary

    Asking/telling about needs
