Bienvenido!
Welcome!

The Spanish language is becoming increasingly common and important in the United States.  Here at Maryville High School we offer four years of Spanish.   Spanish 3 and 4 are also offered for dual credit through Northwest Missouri State University.

So ------ what can you expect in Spanish class?
*  Lots of vocabulary to learn.  The more words you know the more things you can say.
*  Some grammar.  After all, you don't want to sound like Tarzan when you speak Spanish.
*  Communication.  What's the point of learning a language if you can't communicate.
*  Class participation.  You can't learn a language without using it.
*  Active engaging strategies.  Everyone gets to participate.  Everyone gets to learn.
*  Homework (a couple of times a week).  Practice makes permanent.  If you don't practice, you can't remember.
